Mineral Wells is your gateway to the North Texas Hill Country. In the past, Mineral Wells was famous for its numerous, mineral water wells that were used for medicinal purposes. You can still purchase the famous water from one of the original wells. Today, Mineral Wells is still associated with our famous mineral water, where our wells run deep and so does our hospitality.

Mineral Wells is conveniently located near several lakes and the beautiful Brazos River. Lake Mineral Wells is located at Mineral Wells State Park on the eastern edge of the city and the Brazos River is just outside the city, as you travel west. The scenic Brazos River, as it snakes its way through the hill country, is well known for canoeing and fishing. Palo Pinto County has additional water opportunities for recreational activities (boating, fishing and skiing), at both, Lake Palo Pinto and the well known Possum Kingdom Lake Resort Area.

In addition to its abundant natural resources, the city of Mineral Wells has a history as a manufacturing community. Today, growth can be seen in the oil and gas industry and in the retail economy of the county.
