In December, 2005, First Financial Bankshares , Inc. acquired Bridgeport Financial Corporation expanding into Wise County with locations in Bridgeport, Boyd and Decatur. Wise County is an attractive, rapidly expanding market that fits into our companies growing footprint of community banks within a 50 mile radius of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Growth in Wise County is spurred by commercial and residential development in the Lake Bridgeport resort area, the recent explosion of oil and gas exploration in the Barnett Shale region, and the expansion of a regional medical facility in Decatur. In addition, Wise County rock quarries are the primary suppliers of the concrete aggregate used in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex construction.
